New Georgian, European market opens in Round Rock

Qvevri Georgian & European Market is now open in the Lake Creek Crossing shopping center (next to Lamppost Coffee and Hoody’s Subs), located at 1205 Round Rock Ave., Suite 113.

Owners Khatia and David Pipia are proud to share flavors from their home country, and proud to now call Round Rock home.

You’ll find a variety of imported products including Georgian cheese, fruit drinks, beer, sausage, fish, pasta, sauces and other European goods. The market also carries Georgian wine (did you know Georgia is one of the world’s oldest wine-producing countries, with an 8,000-year winemaking history?!).

In addition to food and wine, the market offers Georgian-made jewelry, scarves and decorative qvevris (traditional clay vessels used for making and storing wine). Throughout the store, you’ll see artwork featuring Georgian script, one of the oldest written languages in the world.

GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO SHOP

Want better roads? How about better parks? All you have to do is Shop the Rock. Seriously, head over to the outlets and buy those shoes, or venture downtown for lunch. It doesn’t matter if you are shopping, dining or getting a haircut your dollars are helping to pay it forward and build our community. What makes this possible? Sales tax. Though it may be the least sexy tax, it is the hardest working one. So next time you see a shirt you love, buy it. Your city will thank you.
