





Build a Bear (at Kalahari)
Build-A-Bear Workshop turns 30 this year, creating fond memories for the children who created their own personalized stuffed animal there. Choose from a variety of selections from pop culture, sports, movies and of course Build-A-Bear collections and then accessorize.
For fans now grown, an online-only section, “The Bear Cave” offers a variety of collaborations for adults. Deck out your bears in “Star Trek” and “Star Wars” gear, ‘80s garb or in a Michael Scott (“The Office”) costume.

Blue Diamond Boutique
Blue Diamond Boutique in Downtown Round Rock offers chic apparel, accessories and gift, but you’ll also find crafting and fashion design classes for children. They recently hosted “Wine Down Wednesdays,” with shoppers enjoying drink offers and craft activities from 6-9 p.m.

Board and Brush Creative Studio
Board and Brush combines woodworking with painting in a variety of workshops. If signs don’t suit you, consider trying a doormat, flower box or another medium to decorate.
Adult and child workshops are available. Book a private party or meeting, or search their website or social media to see upcoming events.

Bricks and Minifigs
Opened April 4 in the Mays Crossing Shopping Center, Bricks and Minifigs specializes in LEGO builds past, present and partial. Bricks and Minifigs stores can now be found in 300 locations across the United States and Canada.
Stop by to sell, trade or purchase new LEGO sets, figures or bricks. Party packages are also available.

Ceramic Lodge
They even offer “pottery to go,” where students select the piece they’d like to paint and then swing by the studio to pick up supplies and the pottery so they can create in the space of their choosing.
A party room is available on an hourly basis, and five-day student summer camp sessions begin in June. Ceramic Lodge will even take the art to you, offering “field trips” in which staff members travel from the studio to wherever the students are located.
Ceramic Lodge offers set hours to accommodate walk-ins, so stop on by six days a week to pick out the pottery, glass or canvas you’d like to paint.

The City Arts Center
Overseen by City of Round Rock Arts and Culture, the newly completed City Arts Center has been hosting art exhibits in the few months it’s been open in the former city library location, the Griffith Building at 216 E. Main St. But they’re already looking to expand offerings, through its Workshops at STUDIO at the City Arts Center educational program. Look for more soon on how to get involved in hands-on creativity guided by local artists.

Cordovan Art School
Cordovan instructors keep busy with weekly art classes on a schedule interspersed with summer camps, parties and special events. Camps are available for ages 5-16 and are usually held during four-day periods. Registration is available online.
Art classes range from $174 to $264 a month and include classes for children 4 and up and adults.

HiBeads

Tucked away into a corner of Downtown, HiBeads Studio provides crafting experiences for ages 5 and up. Create designs using brightly colored plastic beads that can be melted together to make items such as keychains, coasters, wall art, magnets, portraits and more.
Step in, pick a pattern or bring your own idea and design away. HiBeads welcomes walk-ins and offers summer camps starting at $235 a week.

Painting With A Twist
Painting With a Twist participants strolled in merrily in pairs or alone one weekday, having worked their way through rush hour traffic to arrive at the Renaissance Square location. An instructor greeted them and passed out paintings he had started for them to color in, as well as brushes and other supplies.
Painting With a Twist hosts painting sessions, including popular Paint Your Pet events, as well as parties and pop-in hours. They even offer blanket-making sessions. Events are usually open to ages 10 and up but some may be 18 and older.

Rockler
Located in the La Frontera shopping center, Rockler offers single session workshops on topics such as woodturning, using wood lathes and creating shaker doors. Learn how to mix epoxy or how to use a router, planer or table saw. This is for those who enjoy putting on their protective eyewear and seeing shavings fly.
You’ll be able to grab some lumber and tools at Rockler, as well as classes on how to create with them.

Round Rock Community Clay
Round Rock Community Clay owner Emily Adams has dedicated the studio to being the go-to for ceramics enthusiasts. She offers instruction for youth and adults on both wheel-throwing and hand-building methods, and experienced potters will gain access to the Community Clay 3,000-square-foot studio through monthly memberships.
The studio is also available for parties and group events.

RR3D FunFactory
Literally, the world is in your hands at RR3D FunFactory . The new makerspace sells a variety of 3D printed items, but also offers to make custom ordered items. They now host workshops where students can select their own designs before painting and putting on finishing touches.
