Miniso opens Round Rock location at La Frontera

Global lifestyle brand Miniso, with locations on the Las Vegas Strip and on Times Square in New York, has landed at La Frontera in Round Rock.

The Chinese retail brand hosted a store grand opening on May 2 at La Frontera Village. The Round Rock store joins more than 330 Miniso stores in the United States.

Miniso carries lifestyle brands such as Disney, Pokémon, Hello Kitty, Tamagotchi, SpongeBob SquarePants, My Little Pony and more, as well as Miniso originals. Product categories include toys and collectibles, bags and accessories, food and beverage, fragrance, home goods, tech and apparel.

Miniso has become well known for its blind box events and an ever-revolving lineup of new collections for fans of different brands. It recently announced new figures from the Rilakkuma brand at select stores and the Star Wars /Miniso collection in special pop-ups at only nine stores worldwide.

“From playful characters to everyday essentials with a creative twist, we design products that spark joy and inspire a sense of wonder in your daily life,” the brand announces on its website.

In February, Tamagotchi celebrated its 30th anniversary with a retail takeover of Miniso’s Times Square location. The event included an appearance by Tamagotchi character Mimitchi, photo ops and Tamagotchi-themed installations.

Miniso has been growing at a rapid clip since opening its first store in China in 2013. The retailer now operates more than 7,800 stores globally and the Round Rock grand opening was one of seven taking place across the U.S. in a two-week span.

Find it adjacent to Petco at La Frontera Village at 2701-A Parker Drive.

GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO SHOP

Want better roads? How about better parks? All you have to do is Shop the Rock. Seriously, head over to the outlets and buy those shoes, or venture downtown for lunch. It doesn’t matter if you are shopping, dining or getting a haircut your dollars are helping to pay it forward and build our community. What makes this possible? Sales tax. Though it may be the least sexy tax, it is the hardest working one. So next time you see a shirt you love, buy it. Your city will thank you.
