Round Rock spot becomes Peach Cobbler Factory’s first Austin-area location

When asked why she chose to become a franchisee of The Peach Cobbler Factory in her first venture as a restaurant owner, Donna Doss smiled wide, closed her eyes and in her mind, she was a youngster again, following sweet scents into a kitchen in Tennessee.

“I’m a Southerner so I’m very familiar with peach cobbler and the comfort it brings,” Doss said. “It’s just a Southern thing. You come in and your mom or grandma’s baking that homemade cobbler. It’s warm and fresh. It just brings a sense of comfort.”

Doss and co-owner Derrick Ross celebrated the grand opening of the first Round Rock Peach Cobbler Factory location – the first in the Austin area – on June 13 in the Sky Ridge Plaza shopping center, 2000 S. Interstate 35, Suite K4.

Known for its warm cobblers, banana puddings and cheesecakes, The Peach Cobbler Factory continues its rapid expansion across the United States with more than 130 brick-and-mortar and mobile operations and over 100 additional units in development nationwide.

Founded in Nashville, Tenn. in 2013, The Peach Cobbler Factory also offers desserts such as brownies, churros, cinnamon rolls, cookies and shakes, as well as soft drinks, coffee and other beverages.

“We knew coming here there were a lot of Peach Cobbler Factories in other parts of Texas,” Ross said of opening in Round Rock. “We realized in our research that there were none in the Austin area at all. We wound up falling in love with Round Rock. It’s been probably one of the best decisions we’ve ever made.”
