Keep it local on Super Sunday

The Big Game is nearly upon us. We know lots of folks will have their own Super Bowl parties at home, and we know lots of you will be looking to watch Panthers v Broncos at a local sports bar. For the latter group, we’ve done a little checking to see which places have some Super plans.

In no particular order, here are some Round Rock spots that have publicized their Super specials/promotions:

  • Westside Alehouse, 1500 IH 35 — will have specials all day, both of the adult beverage and wing variety. With dozens of taps, you’ll have a harder time choosing what to drink than you will picking the winner of Sunday’s game. If wings ain’t your thing, no worries. They’ve got more burger, sandwich and grill items than the 1985 Chicago Bears had blitzes.
  • Pluckers Wing Bar, 300 Mays Crossing Drive — always a super popular spot to watch sports, Pluckers recommends making a reservation to guarantee a table ($10 per person). If you’ve got your game face on, then by all means go deep (heat). As @ryanpreilly tweets, “The Plucker’s Fire in the hole Cleanse trumps all other cleanses out there.”
  • Buffalo Wings & Rings, 1901 Town Center Drive — great place to watch a game, and a great place to order carryout if you don’t feel like cooking. If you do order carryout on Sunday, you’ll  get the MVB (Most Valuable Bag), an idea featured in a Forbes article on fun food marketing ideas for Super Sunday.
  • Fast Eddie’s Billiards, 100 Parker Drive, will have specialty drinks to enjoy while you shoot some pool and enjoy the game. With 28 TVs, you’ll have no trouble following the action in San Fran as line up that bank shot.

Have a classic time Downtown

GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO SHOP

Want better roads? How about better parks? All you have to do is Shop the Rock. Seriously, head over to the outlets and buy those shoes, or venture downtown for lunch. It doesn’t matter if you are shopping, dining or getting a haircut your dollars are helping to pay it forward and build our community. What makes this possible? Sales tax. Though it may be the least sexy tax, it is the hardest working one. So next time you see a shirt you love, buy it. Your city will thank you.
