New restaurants coming soon to Round Rock

Round Rock’s food scene continues to grow, with several exciting announcements about upcoming restaurant openings. Here’s a roundup of a few that have indicated their plans to open in Round Rock:

Amy’s Ice Cream

Did you hear the latest scoop? Amy’s Ice Creams is coming to Round Rock.

The new ice cream shop will be located in the Rock Creek Plaza shopping center at 2120 N Mays Street, which is also home to Kerbey Lane Cafe, Tumble 22, and Via 313 Pizza.

The Austin-based ice cream parlor chain offers 350 rotating flavors, cakes, and baked goods throughout Texas. See Amy’s flavors list, ice cream cakes, baked goods, and more at https://amysicecreams.com/.

Construction is expected to begin in 2023. No opening date is set at this time.

Via 313

Get a slice of this! Via 313 is bringing its Detroit-style pizza to Round Rock. The restaurant will be located at 2111 N. I-35, Ste. 380, in the Rock Creek Plaza shopping center. Doors are expected to open to the public on October 24.

The company takes pride in the quality of its cheeses and fresh ingredients, using the most refined flours and classic baking techniques to prepare the pizza dough daily. In addition to Detroit-style pizza, the restaurant offers bar-style pizza, salads, appetizers, and desserts.

Velvet Taco

Taco-bout good news! Velvet Taco has submitted plans to open a location in Round Rock.

The new restaurant will be located at 2120 N. Mays Street in Rock Creek Plaza. Kerbey Lane Cafe, Tumble 22, P. Terry’s and a future Via 313 are also in the same shopping center.

Velvet Taco offers a menu that explores the edge of multi-cultural boundaries by using only fresh ingredients, taking traditional tacos to whole new level. Visitors are able watch their chicken and corn on in house slow roasters through open concept kitchen while they eat! From the margaritas to the famous red velvet cake, everything is prepared from scratch.

An official opening date has yet to be announced.

Tso Chinese Delivery

Takeout just became even more convenient! Tso Chinese Delivery is bringing its virtual kitchen services to Round Rock.

Tso Chinese Delivery first opened its doors to Central Austin in 2017. Since then, there have been many requests to expand with a Round Rock location. The restaurant offers a unique takeout concept, which includes free delivery service as well as a no-tipping policy.

The delivery and carryout-only restaurant will be located at 2000 N. Mays St., Ste. 108.

The opening is expected sometime in the fall of 2022.

Shake Shack

Big news burger lovers! Shake Shack is moving forward with plans to open a new location in Round Rock.

The restaurant will be located west of IH-35 just south of the existing Torchy’s Tacos. Still in the early stages of development, there is no date set for opening at this time.

Known for a delicious variety of burgers, chicken, fries, shakes and frozen custard, Shake Shack currently operates two other locations in the Austin area — one in The Domain and one along South Lamar.

It doesn’t matter if you are shopping, dining or getting a haircut your dollars are helping to pay it forward and build our community. What makes this possible? Sales tax.
